The Castle Mound Smiltnieki is located on the east bank of the Lake Zebrus about 1 km to the south from the Castle Mound Ezerlūki. About 10 m high , oval Castle Mound is about 30 m long and occupies 0,6 ha of land. Augusts Bīlenšteins in the 19th century has expressed an assumption that the hill was the place where the witches were burnt.
